In die laaste maande was daar heelwat veranderinge in die onderwys. Daar is aangekondig dat ’n nuwe eksamenraad vir tuisskolers gestig is met die naam van SAKAI (Suid-Afrikaanse Komprehensiewe Asseserings Instelling), en kort daarna is in die media gerapporteer dat ERCO (Eksamenraad vir Christelike Onderwys – voorheen die Onafhanklike Afrikaanse Eksamenraad) sy akkreditasie by Umalusi verloor het.
